HSU AND CHAN #4
by Norm Scott
($2.95,

Review by Rick Bradford
Hsu and Chan apparentely got their start as a feature in
Electronic Gaming Monthly. Many of you will be glad to know, however, that video games barely even get a mention in this comic (in this issue at least). What you do get is somewhat over-the-top humor and a murder mystery. The story revolves roughly around an old sci-fi movie so there are some fun gags in that vein, especially regarding the concept of "memorabilia". Plus, there's a cool-looking robot. The plot is fun in a
Scooby Doo sort of way, the dialogue is snappy and the jokes are pretty funny. My only complaint is that the art seems to be reduced more than I'd like (perhaps the artist is working too large?). I could go one step further and say that I wish the insides sported the watercolors of the covers but I'll instead say that the covers look quite nice indeed.
