HEAVENLY FRIENDS

Review by Rick Bradford
These comics are, well, they're just weird. They're weird like Gary Leib and Doug Allen's comics (
Idiotland,
Steven) are weird. Weird, but funny. See, there are all these characters, most (all?) of which are dead. For example, there's Severed Head Squirrel who has trouble with – you guessed it – keeping his head on. You've also got Heavenly Pig, an oinker with a voracious appetite who's catered to out of fear of being eaten, Heaven Earl (he's the fellow on the cover with the little wings), Todd the Toddler (center of the known universe), Rat Kerourat and others. It's wacky stuff worth checking out. Will there be more? I don't know; the universe is destroyed at the end so it's hard to say. Then again, they're mostly dead anyway so why not?
