After having published many issues comprised of journal entries, Jay decided it was time for a change. Beginning with this issue
Mr. Peebody becomes a catch-all, mish-mash kind of thing consisting of, well, whatever he feels like sticking in it. I liked Jay's diary issues but I've got a real fondness for the "variety show" approach too.
One cool thing about this new issue is that each copy's got an actual photograph mounted on the cover. Take the photo out of its corner mounts, flip it over and you'll learn something about it (mine was taken in a cave in Colorado Springs).
There's a whole lot of stuff in this 68-page issue but the most prominent feature is a series of five questions (and their answers) posed to various zinesters, celebrities and others such as Bobby Tran Dale, Tony Consiglio, Rich Mackin and Joe Bob Briggs. From his answers, a lesson Mike Tolento learned the hard way: "In the fourth grade I learned not to put up your middle finger at a teacher when her back is turned. She will see you and you will have to pay." Also, tough guy Consiglio offers the best definition of love in the issue.
Other stuff: a bit on tv shows jumping the shark (although Jay refers to it only as his Scrappy Doo Theory); some dirt on Cherry's day job; a zinester boardgame called "Finish the Ish"; tidbits on places Jay's been; and several pages of zine reviews. There's plenty more, of course, but you'll just have to buy a copy for yourself. What, I'm going to tell you everything?
