Review by Mark Campos
Yet another impressive small-press mini anthology, this time from far-away Tasmania. There must be something in the water there, because all fifteen of the contributors have turned in solid, professional-looking work. If you're scouting for new talent, you could start here for impressive results. (Though they may be far, American readers can obtain the book, and others, at the web sites listed above. God bless PayPal!)
The stories, which are all music-themed, range from well-done to droning; the weak stories still look good though. Best in show include Troy Kealley's "Bad Seed": Nick Cave meeting a disturbed fan of
Murder Ballads; Talnon's "Karma", a mutant "Pied Piper" retelling; and Bernie Slater's "I'm Sickened By Pop Culture!", which shows that people are still so bored by the USA.
