Two-dollar minicomics mania continues with this one, a suite of three short stories written by Sean McGurr and illustrated by three or four chums. The writing and art are both deluxe.

You know how my tolerance for superhero stories is low? Well, the story I like best here is "Mentor", illustrated by Leon Briones, about a retired hero who advises an impulsive up-and-coming cape. It's low-key, and charmed even my constipated sensibilities. The other two stories involve a guy selling his Mercedes to a weird hick, and a guy whose unlikely act of heroism gets all sorts of unwanted attention. Has this been a good year for comics writers, or what?
