WORKING STIFF REVIEW #1

Reviewed by Eric LydenWell, I'm exactly the kind of overworked, underpaid, "you're not an employee, you're an associate. And oh yeah, we don't have to pay you jack shit because a title such as associate is so much more important than money" working stiff this zine is aimed at so I might be biased when I say this zine should be read by everyone who either works in these conditions or wants to understand what it's like to work in these conditions. This issue focusses mainly on restaurant workers which... food service work is the worst of the worst because at least the poor schmuck working retail can depend on a steady, if not sizable, paycheck without having to depend on the kindness of tips. This issue features articles on how Wal-Mart lowers standards for all of us, why tipping sucks for both the tipper and the tippee and how to look stupid in a restaurant. Some of it's funny, some of it's thought provoking, all of it's good.
